Andre Beaurepaire was only 20 years old in 1945 when he began to collaborate with Jean Cocteau and Christian Berard on the Thetre de la Mode, A project meant to revive the haute couture and bring fashion, art, and beauty back to a dismal post-war world. In 1947, he worked on the Ballets des Champs-Élysées and it was at this time that he created his design for an Ascher Square.
